Vehicle graphics and wraps need love too!  And now that you’ve installed yours, you’re going to need to give it the loving care it craves to stay looking as insanely hot as it did the day your vehicle was wrapped.

This blog shares some tips to care for your vehicle graphics and wraps, so you can continue sending your message with all the sass and pizzazz you need to turn heads while you’re out there taking care of business.

Clean Is Love Made Real

Washing your vehicle wrap regularly is one of the best things you can do to maintain its appearance for as long as possible.

For this purpose, handwashing is recommended.  Using a mild soap or detergent and a soft, non-abrasive sponge, gently remove dirt.

Prior to handwashing, remove excess dirt that’s adhered to your vehicle wrap by rinsing and when you’ve finished, dry the vehicle wrap with a soft cloth.  Abrasive agents and materials can damage your wrap, so take care about the products you’re using.

Store It Right

Street parking is rife with peril, in a world in which people key vehicles just for fun.  But the environment can also threaten the integrity of your vehicle wrap.  Sun exposure and extreme weather conditions can do just as much damage to your wrap as they can to your face.

Storing your wrapped vehicle in a carport or enclosed garage is your best bet.  While you’re out and about, choose parking in shaded ares.  And remember that rain in larger centers contains corrosive pollutants which can turn your wrap brown, prompting replacement.

Some Nasty Stuff

Birds will poop.  It’s the law of nature.  Sometimes, birds will poop on your strikingly wrapped vehicle.  That’s when a little extra care is required.

Soak the offending splat with some warm water to loosen it a bit.  Then, gently remove as much of the stuff as possible, gently eliminating all trace of the avian assault with a soft cloth and gentle soap or detergent.

Isopropyl alcohol is helpful for particularly unpleasant examples of bird droppings.  Also, citrus-based cleaners can successfully and safely remove them and any other contaminants which appear on your wrap.

Other Things to Know

All abrasive or corrosive materials are the enemy of your vehicle graphics and wraps.  Textured or matte polishes are also not to be used.  If you’re not sure if a product is safe, spot test it on an inconspicuous section of the vehicle you’re cleaning, where it can’t affect the overall integrity of your wrap.

Remember – your love your wrap, so give it the tender, loving care it needs to keep boosting your brand for as long as possible.
